Artist
Ron Bernard was born and
raised in a rural
community outside
Manchester, New
Hampshire. At the age of
12 his parents moved the
family to Bradenton,
Florida, which is his
current residence.
What influenced him
the most artistically at
a young age was what was
on the outside of the
three-room schoolhouse
he attended; flowers
blossomed, trees swayed
in the breeze, and
meadows were lit by the
sun. Inside the school,
books laid on his desk
untouched while he
daydreamed of being
outside. Consequently,
his interests were
sparked by nature and
its endless creativity.
Ron became an artist
in order to visually
express how he is
influenced by these
surroundings, in the
hopes that others would
enjoy and be moved by
some of the same things
that move him. He enjoys
the fact that he can do
what he loves for a
living. He does
photography of children
and families, but
painting watercolors are
what bring him the most
enjoyment. He hopes his
artwork communicates the
beauty that nature has
given us to enjoy.
He attended college,
but not art school. Most
of his photography
training has been on the
job training, as well as
belonging to several
organizations that
promote education. He
has also studied the
techniques of a
multitude of painters.
He has earned his PPAMPD
(Professional
Photographers of America
Master of Photography
Degree), as well as an
FDPE (Florida Degree of
Photographic
Excellence). He has won
the Fugji Southeastern
Award, as well as
various state, regional,
and national profession
photography awards.
Because of their
wonderful photography,
Ron and his wife have
been commissioned to
photograph the families
of several professional
athletes. They run their
portrait photography
during the day, and he
paints watercolors in
the evenings and
Saturdays. His work has
been on display in Epcot
Center in Orlando, as
well as several local
banks.
